Value your trade-in
A real number based on what your vehicle actually sells for
Online estimators give you a range because they are hedging. We would rather look at your specific vehicle, its options, its condition, its service history, then give you one number we will honour when you arrive.
How we price a trade
We look at three things: what comparable vehicles are bringing at Pacific Northwest auctions this month, what the same vehicle is listed for retail within fifty miles, and what reconditioning yours will need before it could be sold. That third number is the one online tools cannot see, which is why their estimates so often shrink at the desk.
The tax advantage
In Washington, when you trade a vehicle in against a purchase, sales tax is calculated on the difference, not the full purchase price. On a $20,000 car with a $7,000 trade, that difference is worth over $900 in most South King County tax jurisdictions. Selling privately and buying separately costs you that.
Still owe money on it?
Not a problem, and very common. We deal with your lender directly to obtain the payoff and settle the loan. If you have equity it comes off the new purchase; if you are upside down, we will show you exactly what rolling it forward does to your payment before you commit to anything.
Washington trade-in tax rule
Sales tax is calculated on the difference between the purchase price and your trade allowance. On a $20,000 vehicle with a $7,000 trade, that is roughly $650–$700 you do not pay. Selling privately loses that benefit entirely.
From form to figure
We pull comps
Pacific Northwest auction results this month plus retail listings within fifty miles of Federal Way.
We estimate recon
What it would cost us to get your vehicle retail-ready. This is the part online estimators cannot see.
You get one number
Not a range. Bring the vehicle in, we confirm it matches what you described, and that number stands.
